Juan Esparza Injured, Out for Year Monday, July 23rd , 2085 Oceanside starting pitcher Juan Esparza could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Tampico game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Esparza would be out 14 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." In 3 starts this year, Esparza has recorded a 0-1 record and a 4.73 ERA. |
