AC Votes Longbows Rose Top Player Monday, July 9th , 2085 No single hit brought Carsten Rose Player of the Week honors -- the Anchorage Longbows left fielder corralled the award with a consistent approach in every at-bat. "Hitting is all about discipline," said Rose. "When you lose focus, start to lunge at the ball and swing too aggressively... swinging at a lot of bad pitches... that's when your average starts to drop and you wind up fighting for playing time. You're most successful when you concentrate on the ball and make 'em throw strikes." Concentrate he did. Rose stroked 10 hits in 18 at-bats while cranking out 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored. In the 2085 season Rose is hitting .241 with 10 home runs. |
