Big Day for Baer: Swats 5 Hits Tuesday, June 15th , 2083 Tim Baer exploded for a barrage of base hits at Birds Ballpark. The Sault Ste. Marie first baseman had a field day in his team's 12-0 triumph over the Cincinnati Birds, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Baer must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Tim Baer hit a two-run home run off Armando Cruz in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Joe Walters in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
