Neosbel Benavides Rockets 3 Home Runs Sunday, September 2nd , 2085 Anaheim Rage left fielder Neosbel Benavides put on a dazzling display of power at Anaheim Grounds against the Santa Ana Broncs. In the 9-7 Rage victory, Benavides penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Santa Ana manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 23-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Benavides said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Neosbel Benavides grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ricky Gutierrez in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Matt Fontana in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jordan Zuniga in the 9th. So far this year in 125 games, Benavides is hitting .281 with 32 home runs, 93 RBIs and 82 runs scored. |
