Phibbs August's Best Bat Choice Saturday, September 1st , 2085 For a rookie just breaking in, Mike Phibbs certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the BC Batter of the Month award for August. The 23-year-old second baseman for the Arlington Mallards hit .434 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs and 15 runs scored. This year, Phibbs has socked 115 hits in 405 at-bats for a .284 average with 14 home runs. He is getting on base at a .366 pace and his totals also include 76 RBIs and 49 runs scored. |
