Braun Goes Deep 3 Times Saturday, August 14th , 2083 It was a good day for the Riverside Spinners and an exceptional one for Allen Braun. The 21-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Spinners beat the Anchorage Homesteads, 16-3, at Spinners Ballpark. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Braun said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 9 runs and smacked 4 hits in 5 at-bats. Allen Braun hit a three-run home run off Hector Gonzalez in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Kyle Montgomery in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Rodolfo Ruiz in the 7th. In 19 games Braun is hitting .258 this season with 17 hits, 6 home runs, 21 RBIs, 4 walks, .320 OBP and has scored 12 runs. |
