Snook Hitless, Streak Ends at 20 Thursday, August 23rd , 2085 Jim Snook, first baseman for the Arlington Mallards, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the San Antonio Texicans. Not only did the Texicans break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Arlington by the score of 5-3. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Snook said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Snook is currently batting .308 with 18 home runs, 88 RBIs and 78 runs scored. He has 148 hits in 481 at-bats. |
