The starting pitcher was hurt in today's Red Wings-Spinners game while throwing a pitch. Team officials announced after the game that Garica had suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be out of action for 6 months. Garica has gone 6-4 this season with an ERA of 2.37 and 105 strikeouts in 121.2 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .206 against him. |
