Niu Keeps Hit Streak Alive Saturday, August 18th , 2085 The hitting streak for Saint Petersburg first baseman Wen-huan Niu now stands at 30 games, but the Red Wings dropped today's contest 10-2 to the Riverside Spinners. Niu went 1-for-3 in the game. "Things went well for me personally," he said. "I got 1 hit and the streak keeps going. But we didn't win the game." Wen-huan Niu hit an RBI single in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and was hit by a pitch in the 8th. For the season, Niu has produced 79 hits in 199 at-bats for a .397 average with 6 home runs and gotten on base at a .407 clip. |
