Alarcon 5-for-5 Against Players
Wednesday, July 12th , 2084
Even as a kid, Eliecer Alarcon said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Ballpark of Genoa, Alarcon showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 27-year-old catcher had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Riverside Spinners, helping his team knock off the Quahog Players by a score of 12-0.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Eliecer Alarcon singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Armando Bonilla in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Alarcon has hit at a .240 clip and produced 22 runs batted in, 3 home runs and 28 runs.
