Rivera Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 20 Friday, July 7th , 2084 Osmel Rivera's 20-game hitting streak was snapped at Sun Devil Stadium. The 23-year-old Garland Pigeons first baseman failed to get a hit in 1 at-bat in the game against the San Bernadino Sun Devils, but Garland came out the winner, 5-1. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Osmel," Pigeons manager said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." For the season, Rivera is hitting .274, batted in 39 runs with 13 home runs and 34 runs scored. |
