Cleary Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games

Bill Cleary of the Arlington Mallards just keeps going and going. The hot-hitting catcher went 2-for-5 in his team's 7-3 victory over the Moreno Valley Blaze at Blaze Ballpark and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.
"He is definitely on a roll right now," said Blaze manager . "I thought we made some good pitches against him, but he's a good hitter and he hit 'em anyway."
When asked about his performance, Cleary said he would not mind going hitless "as long as we get the win." Bill Cleary doubled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Buckbee in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
Cleary on the season is batting .355 with 15 home runs. His totals include 36 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has played in 52 games.
