Tuesday, June 27th , 2084
The season is finished for Rafael Magallanes of the Norfolk Thorns. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Thorns starting pitcher suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Quahog Players. Team doctors said it would take at least 14 months to heal.
Magallanes has posted a 1-5 record for the year with a 3.31 ERA. Teams are hitting .238 against him and he has rung up 53 strikeouts in 51.2 innings.
