West on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Lincoln Tuesday, June 20th , 2084 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Finn West -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Traders Ballpark, but the performance lost a little luster when the Cannons were downed, 9-3, by the Lincoln Traders. After his glittering performance, the Calgary center fielder told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," West said. Finn West singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Min-jae Kim in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. West has a .299 average and a .364 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 66 hits, 7 home runs and driven in 34 runs. View Boxscore |
