5-Hit Blitz by San Bernadino's Cassavaugh Friday, May 24th , 2086 After his 5-hit effort at Sun Devil Stadium was tarnished by San Bernadino's 7-4 loss to the Oxnard Tigercats, right fielder Keith Cassavaugh told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win." He didn't get the win, but the 30-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Tigercats. "His swing is getting there," said Sun Devils skipper after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Keith did that to perfection and we wasted it." Keith Cassavaugh singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In this current campaign Cassavaugh is hitting at a .312 clip with 7 home runs and 27 RBIs. View Boxscore |
