Gonzales 20-Game Hitting Streak Ends Friday, May 17th , 2086 Freddy Gonzales, third baseman for the Guadalajara Charros, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Riverside Spinners. Not only did the Spinners break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Guadalajara by the score of 6-1. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Gonzales said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Looking at his season stats, Gonzales has compiled a .345 batting average and a .444 on-base percentage, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 15 runs. |
