Chwalek 5-for-5 for Garland Tuesday, April 23rd , 2086 It was a hits blitz for Zane Chwalek at Traders Ballpark. The Garland Pigeons shortstop tore into the Lincoln Traders for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Traders swept past the Pigeons, 7-6, to ruin Chwalek's day. "We weren't locating our pitches well," Garland manager explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Zane was nice but it wasn't enough." Zane Chwalek singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. This season, Chwalek is hitting at a .459 pace with 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and has scored 18 times. View Boxscore |
