Friday, May 26th , 2084
Anchorage designated hitter Alex Trujillo had a big day at Homesteads Ballpark against the Joliet Blues. The 23-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 22-9 Homesteads triumph over Joliet.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Trujillo said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Alex Trujillo singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, walked in the 5th and doubled in the 7th.
To date, Trujillo has collected 49 hits for a .327 average. He has posted 4 home runs, scored 28 runs and driven in 20 runs.
