Pineda Goes 6-for-6
Thursday, May 11th , 2084
Even as a kid, Victor Pineda said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Ballpark of Louisa, Pineda showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 23-year-old first baseman had 6 hits in 6 at-bats for the Quahog Players, helping his team knock off the Baton Rouge Kings by a score of 26-2.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Victor Pineda walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
In this current campaign Pineda is hitting at a .330 clip with 4 home runs and 17 RBIs.
