29-Game Streak Ends, Salvat Hitless Monday, August 13th , 2085 Lincoln right fielder Armando Salvat went 0-for-4 in Lincoln's 7-6 triumph over the Santa Ana Broncs, snapping his 29-game hitting streak. Salvat spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later." "I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though." When Salvat made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Broncs manager said of Salvat's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here." This year, Salvat has hit at a .337 clip with 61 RBIs, 19 home runs and 76 runs scored. |
