Brenden Jayson Hurt, Out for Year Saturday, July 24th , 2083 The doctors have spoken and Brenden Jayson of the Baton Rouge Kings didn't like what he heard. The 35-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Jayson sustained his season-ending injury during the Saint Petersburg Red Wings game yesterday at Red Wings Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Baton Rouge medical staff reported Jayson had radial nerve compression and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months. Thus far this season, Jayson has compiled a 1-0 record, made 33 relief appearances with no saves, hurling 45 innings and striking out 41. He has held the opposition to a .340 batting average with a 6.00 ERA. |
