Renteria Goes 5-for-5 Thursday, May 31st , 2085 After his 5-hit effort at Ballpark of Fremont was tarnished by Fremont's 2-1 loss to the Norfolk Thorns, left fielder Danny Renteria told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win." He didn't get the win, but the 24-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Thorns. "His swing is getting there," said Roadsters skipper after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Danny did that to perfection and we wasted it." Danny Renteria singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Renteria is batting .264 this year with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
