First Baseman Paszek Will Retire Thursday, April 12th , 2085 Ian Paszek of the Cannons is hanging it up. The veteran first baseman reportedly told team officials yesterday that he would not return for another season. "The time has come for me to give up a game I love dearly, but the time is right. Baseball has been good for me and I hope I have been good for baseball." "While we are disappointed Ian will not be playing for us next year, I have a tremendous amount of respect for him and the way he went about this decision," said the Calgary general manager. Over his career Paszek is batting .291 with 410 doubles, 30 triples, 311 home runs, 1061 RBIs and scored 1124 runs in 1871 games. |
