Taira Torches Wolves for 5 Hits Wednesday, August 22nd , 2085 New York Titans catcher Taiji Taira banged out 5 hits, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Vancouver Wolves, 8-7. He went 5-for-5 and raised his batting average a few points. "If the hits keep coming," an upbeat Taira said after the game, "the runs will too. And, more importantly, so will the wins." Taiji Taira singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
