The Seattle Arrows whipped the St. Louis Gaedels, 9-6, and left fielder Mark Kubina showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-5 at the plate. "Some days, lady luck is on your side," Kubina told BNN reporters after the game. Arrows manager Dr. Jay Siber told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 24-year-old "focused and patient." "It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Mark hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have." Mark Kubina doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 7th. Kubina is hitting at a .298 mark this season.
