Brooks Hurls Shutout Monday, August 14th , 2084 The Houston Aquas did little to support starter Slider Brooks against the Tucson Toros, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Toros, striking out 7 and surrendering 2 hits. The performance from Brooks allowed Houston to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said, 'Slider, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Brooks told BNN reporters following the win.
