Johnsen Belts Bunch of Base Hits Wednesday, May 8th , 2086 Jonathan Johnsen told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Johnsen of the Washington Senators did against the Philadelphia Spectres. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a defeat, 8-7. "Not much I can say," offered Johnsen in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Jonathan Johnsen hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year, Johnsen is hitting .283 with 2 home runs and 14 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .330 clip and scored 11 runs. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights |
