Morf Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle
Monday, April 29th , 2086
Billy Morf did everything he could for the Phoenix Thunderbirds -- literally.

The 30-year-old left fielder hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Thunderbirds, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Kansas City Athletics, 6-4, at Ballpark of Missouri.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Morf reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Morf banged out 4 hits in 7 at-bats and totaled 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Billy Morf doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, struck out in the 8th, flied out in the 11th and hit a two-run home run off Alex Esquibel in the 13th.

Thus far this season, Morf is hitting .333 with 7 home runs, 20 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has 35 hits in 105 at-bats and has played in 26 games.
