Cooper Raps Miami for 5 Hits Thursday, April 25th , 2086 A jubilant Karl Cooper joined the postgame press conference at Kroger Stadium to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Miami Cyclones pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Montreal Harfangs first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 10-5 Harfangs win. "He made it look easy," said Chris Stephan, manager of the Cyclones. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Karl Cooper walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Cooper is hitting .307 this year with 5 home runs and 17 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .378, 10 walks and scored 13 times. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights |
