Santiago Deals Archuleta to Philadelphia for Aljeroz Sunday, July 15th , 2085 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Avispas announced today the acquisition of 24-year old RHP Divino Aljeroz and 22-year old LHP Akashi Kurosawa from the Philadelphia Spectres in exchange for 19-year old LHP Nick Winegarden, 21-year old RHP Todd Britten, 24-year old C Tony Granados, 23-year old 1B Ruben Archuleta, 22-year old LHP Roberto Rodriguez, 25-year old CF Jeremy Aldrich, 26-year old LHP John Frye, 20-year old LF Juan Martinez, and 27-year old LHP Raul Ontiveros. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Avispas, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Looking at his pitching stats this season, Aljeroz has made 19 relief appearances, pitched 81 innings and fashioned a 4-7 record with a 4.22 ERA. He has recorded 10 saves, struck out 70 and allowed opposing clubs to hit .273 when he is on the hill. |
