The Los Angeles Stars powered past the hometown Alaska Kodiaks, 3-2, in the opener of the Divisional Series at Tundradome. Los Angeles starting pitcher Tadeu Carneira threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs, to lead the charge. The Stars now lead the series 1-0.

Los Angeles used a clutch at-bat from Lucas Pamatz to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Stars ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers called it "a pretty good win."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tundradome in Kodiak Station.
