Birds Segura No-Hits Terrors
|
Excitement reigned at Terrors Ballpark as Cincinnati Birds hurler Danny Segura tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter.
After defeating the Henderson Terrors, 6-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments.
"I'm just glad to be here," Segura said. "Today I just went right at the Terrors as hard as I could, as long as I could."
Segura, who leads the BC in complete games with 2, chalked up 8 strikeouts and allowed 4 walks in his superb performance.
"I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said Cincinnati manager .
Segura has fashioned a 6-10 mark for the season, 3.98 ERA and thrown 104 innings in 17 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .270 against him.
