Nichols 5-for-5 Against Sky Warriors
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Jon Nichols, it came around today.

The 20-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over Sky Warriors Ballpark to pace the 11-5 Glendale Beachcombers victory over the Madison Sky Warriors.

Madison skipper told reporters in the press room that "Nichols deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Nichols hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Jon Nichols walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Pat Reyes in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Nichols is hitting .315 in 2084 with 16 RBIs and 5 home runs.
