Gilbert Bulldozers right fielder Juan Martinez had a day to remember at Ballpark of Louisville, ripping apart the Louisville Stompers and sparking the 15-6 Bulldozers win.

Martinez wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Martinez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."

Juan Martinez struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Escobar in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

This season, Martinez has hit 2 home runs and posted a .256 batting average.
