Gutierrez Torches Golden Bears for 5 Hits
Nestor Gutierrez put on a hitting clinic as the Glendale Beachcombers dumped the Corpus Christi Golden Bears, 17-0, at Ballpark of Glendale.

The Glendale left fielder made Corpus Christi defenders earn their pay, lashing Corpus Christi pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Gutierrez said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
