Ruiz Belts 6 Hits
|
Carlos Ruiz got the glory and the headlines, but the Grand Blanc Barons left with the win. The New Orleans shortstop easily handled the Barons pitching, going 6-for-7, but his New Orleans Blues came out on the short end of the 4-3 score.
Ruiz told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win.
"Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end."
Carlos Ruiz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 10th and grounded out in the 13th.
This season in 40 games, Ruiz is batting .397 with 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and has scored 12 times.
