A jubilant Bogdan Bromp joined the postgame press conference at Scots Ballpark to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Hoxie Scots pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Baton Rouge Grapplers left fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 9-8 Grapplers win.

"He made it look easy," said , manager of the Scots. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Bogdan Bromp singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 9th.

Bromp is hitting .412 this year with 5 home runs and 12 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .475, 6 walks and scored 11 times.
