Suarez Slams 5 Hits for Marfa
After a 5-hit effort to lead Marfa's 8-2 victory over the Lamoine Shockwave, left fielder Carlos Suarez told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the RSL Double A-level is really something special."

The 21-year-old player earned his accolades at Miami Beach Park with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Shockwave.

"His swing is getting there," said Lights skipper , who spoke glowingly of Suarez after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Carlos did that to perfection."

Carlos Suarez hit a solo-shot off Juan Ramirez in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

This year, Suarez is hitting .423, produced 18 RBIs and 6 home runs, scored 21 times and gotten on base at a .470 rate.
