Algeo Goes on Rampage Against Terrors
|
John Algeo put on a hitting clinic as the Edmonton Trappers dumped the Henderson Terrors, 8-2, at Terrors Ballpark.
The Edmonton right fielder made Henderson defenders earn their pay, lashing Henderson pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Algeo said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
John Algeo singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off John Thomas in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Looking at his stats this year, Algeo has compiled a .488 batting average, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 9 runs. He has played in 13 games and scored 9 runs.
