It seemed that Akron second baseman Ari Meklau could do no wrong as the Pickets KO'd the Cannons, 8-7. Meklau rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Cannons hurlers were throwing.

"I think the Pickets were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Calgary fan after the game.

"I felt good. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Meklau in the postgame press interview.

Ari Meklau hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

So far this season, Meklau has recorded a .367 batting average with 18 hits, no home runs, 10 RBIs, 8 runs scored and a .456 OBP.
