Saturday, February 28th, 2026: The last pitch has been thrown, and the last out has been made. All the cheers have subsided. The baseball season is over for the fans, but for the World Baseball Classic decision-makers, it is just starting again. The season never really ends for general managers, who start their "second season" today. The front office staff is working overtime analyzing hirings and firings and planning out a strategy that will get their team to the championship next season.

 | Team Japan Beat Team Cuba in Round 3
Thursday, February 26th, 2026: It was Team Japan and Team Cuba challenging one other in the 2026 World Baseball Classic Round 3 this season. On paper, there wasn't much difference between the two strong ballclubs, but on the field, the verdict went to the Team Japan.
It was the 1st for the new league champions. They defeated the Team Cuba 3-1 in the series, winning the last game today by a 6-5 score.
The new champs finished the regular season 7-4 and claimed third place in the pennant race. |
