Top Player Named by Beta Conference

Jason Wedel took RSL Single A by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 21.
For his spectacular campaign, the Trois-Rivieres Aquanauts star has been named the 2079 Beta Conference Outstanding Hitter Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the first baseman.
On the season he compiled a .276 batting average to go with a .352 on-base percentage. The native of Los Angeles, California also added 15 doubles, no triples, 30 home runs, 65 RBIs and 64 runs scored.
He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 30. Diego Rivera of the Victoria Seals finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Dodger Hall Jr. of the Trois-Rivieres Aquanauts finished third with 6 first place votes.
