Super Swinger -- Schachle Slams 5 Hits Monday, August 2nd , 2083 It was a high-five day for Joe Schachle, at least for a while. The Hillsboro second baseman got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the New Orleans Blues, but they were in short supply at the end, as New Orleans won the game, 5-4. Schachle finished with an impressive 5-for-5 line, but the Ensigns couldn't hold off the Blues. "Joe was hitting everything," said Ensigns manager . "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion." Joe Schachle singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Edwin Mendoza in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. To date, Schachle has collected 46 hits for a .260 average. He has posted 5 home runs, scored 21 runs and driven in 11 runs. View Boxscore |
