Cougars End Venegas Streak Sunday, August 1st , 2083 The Victoria Seals lost to the Scott County Cougars, 7-1, at Victoria Park, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Angel Venegas's 20-game hitting streak. The right fielder went 0-for-1 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Venegas, we would win the game," Cougars manager explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This season in 102 games, Venegas has hit at a .336 clip with 125 hits, 16 home runs, 63 RBIs and 53 runs scored. |
