AC Honors Baton Rouge Right Fielder Monday, July 15th , 2080 The votes have been cast and counted and the winner of the Alpha Conference Player of the Week has been chosen. It was presented earlier today to Tony Cortez for his red-hot week of hitting. The Baton Rouge right fielder took home the trophy by splurging with 14 hits in 29 at-bats for a .483 batting average, driving in 4 runs and scoring 3 times. So far this season, Cortez has put up a .343 batting average with 96 hits, 16 home runs and 40 RBIs. |
