Greens Berlinghieri Smacks 5 Hits
Friday, July 1st , 2078
Geneva Greens left fielder Gianni Berlinghieri had a day to remember at Ballpark of Mastic Beach, ripping apart the Mastic Beach Polecats and sparking the 8-4 Greens win.
Berlinghieri wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-7.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Berlinghieri told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Gianni Berlinghieri singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, struck out in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
Currently Berlinghieri is batting .571 with 1 home run and 2 RBIs.
