Blackbirds Pels Tames Toledo Monday, June 13th , 2078 It was not a good day at the plate for the Toledo Red Dragons. They came up empty when it mattered against Shreveport Blackbirds left-hander Vito Pels, who scattered 3 hits across 10 innings and held the Red Dragons scoreless. "We had 3 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Toledo manager said later. Pels chalked up 9 strikeouts and no walks in the 3-0 Blackbirds win.
