Cerda Goes Long 3 Times
Tuesday, June 18th , 2080
Plano Elephants bombardier Gilberto Cerda set his sights on the stands and blasted three balls over the fence as his club beat the Grand Blanc Barons, 10-2.
"I guess you could say I was a good guesser today, especially on the last one," Cerda told writers in the postgame press room. "I was ahead in the count, so I gambled that I'd get a certain pitch, and got all of it."
For the game, the Plano third baseman had 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 5, and scored 3 runs.
Gilberto Cerda hit a two-run home run off Cesar Ortiz in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Cesar Ortiz in the 4th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th.
So far this season, Cerda has put up a .203 batting average with 35 hits, 5 home runs and 15 RBIs.
