Aquanauts End Lara Streak Monday, June 17th , 2080 Elias Lara, right fielder for the Scott County Cougars, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Trois-Rivieres Aquanauts. Not only did the Aquanauts break his 26-game hitting streak, they also beat Scott County by the score of 5-1. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Lara said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." This year, Lara is hitting .314 with 81 hits, 15 home runs, 30 RBIs and has scored 41 runs. |
