Super Swinger -- Matsui Slams 5 Hits Thursday, June 13th , 2080 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Akiro Matsui of the Saint Paul Incas had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate in his team's 13-8 win over the Scott County Cougars at Ballpark of Fort Wayne. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 19-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Akiro Matsui singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jon Riley in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Matsui is hitting .200 for the season with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 42 hits in 210 at-bats and played in 55 games. View Boxscore |
